Bagamoyo
Mgr. Xavier Vogt becomes Vicar Apostolic of the New Vicariat of Central Zanzibar. He establishes his residence in Bagamoyo. The new Vicariat has 30 priests, 20 brothers and 13.600 Christians. The name of the Vicariat changes to the Vicariat of Bagamoyo soon afterwards.
