As a result of the Constitution "Sapiens Consilio" of Pius X, the Congregation will depend henceforth on the Congregation for Religious for its religious life and on the Propaganda Fide for everything concerning its mission.
1917 Canada
The first successes in the baccalauréat. The Archbishop of Ottawa gives the tonsure to five scholastics.
1924 Nigeria
Bishop Shanahan founds the first Seminary in Southern Nigeria in the town of Igbarian. In 1951 this Seminary took the name of the Bigard Memorial Seminary after Jeanne Bigard and her mother, Stephanie, who together founded the society of St. Peter the Apostle. This Seminary will be run by Spiritans until 1970.
1977 Angola
The Angolan Province is created.

Quand je travaillais là-bas comme jeune missionnaire, je pensais que le Nigeria ne pourrait pas se passer de moi. Dieu m’a ramené dans mon pays et m’a montré qu’il le pouvait. Et puis je pensais que Killeshandra (noviciat MSHR) ne pourrait pas se passer de moi, mais à nouveau Dieu m’a montré qu’il le pouvait.

Par suite de la Constitution "Sapiens Consilio" de St Pie X, la Congrégation dépendra désormais de la Sacrée Congrégation des Religieux, pour sa vie religieuse, et de la Propagande, pour sa vie apostolique.

Premiers succès au baccalauréat (13.19). A la rentrée suivante, l'Archevêque d'Ottawa donne la Tonsure à 5 Scolastiques.

Mgr Shanahan fonde le 1er Séminaire au sud Nigeria dans la ville d’Igbarian. En 1951, ce Séminaire prit le nom de Bigard Memorial Seminary, en l’honneur de Jeanne Bigard et de sa mère Stéphanie, fondatrices de la société St Pierre Apôtre. Les Spiritains ont été chargés de ce Séminaire jusqu’en 1970.

Há dezoito anos que pela primeira vez o contactei. Eu estava em África há dezoito anos, e agora, no fim da minha vida regresso lá. Quando trabalhava lá como jovem missionário, pensava que a Nigéria não podia passar sem mim. Deus afastou-me, e mos-trou-me que isso era possível. Pensava depois que Killeshandra (noviciado das Irmãs do Santo Rosário) não podia passar sem mim, mas de novo, Deus me mostrou que isso era possível.

Em consequência da Constituição “Sapiens Consilio” de S. Pio X, a Congregação no futuro dependerá da Sagrada Congregação dos Religiosos no que se refere à vida religiosa, e da Propaganda para a sua vida apostólica.

Primeiros êxitos no bacharelato. (13.19). Na reabertura seguinte, o Arcebispo de Otava dá a Tonsura a 5 Escolásticos.
1924 Nigéria
O Bispo Shanahan funda o primeiro Seminário no Sul da Nigéria na cidade de Igbarian. Em 1951 este Seminário começa a chamar-se “Seminário Memorial de Bigard” em memória de Joana Bigard e sua mãe Estefânia, que juntas fundaram a sociedade de S. Pedro Apóstolo. Este Seminário foi dirigido pelos Espiritanos até 1970.
1977 Angola
É criada a Província de Angola.
