By the Bull "In Sublimi", Pope Pius IX, at the request of the bishops of France, gives canonical approval to the French Seminary in Rome and confides it "in perpetuity" to the Congregation of the Holy Spirit.

The Superior General and his Council leave the rue des Pyrénées in Paris. On September 9th, the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the Generalate is set up in Rome on Monte Mario at Clivo di Cinna, 195.
1994 Puerto Rico
The international noviciate for Spanish-speaking students is established in Dorado with 7 novices from Haiti, Mexico, Paraguay and Puerto Rico. Fr Victor Cabezas from Spain is the Master and Fr Ivan Sarrano, from P.R. is his assistant.
Le Supérieur général confirme ses frères dans leur vocation spiritaine, selon l'esprit des fondateurs et la tradition vivante de l'Institut. Il assure l'unité entre tous les Spiritains et avec l'Église. Il œuvre pour le bien commun et la vitalité de la Congrégation. Dans un esprit de communion avec le Saint Siège, il lui rend compte, en la manière et aux temps fixés, de l'état et de la vie de l'Institut.

Le noviciat international de langue espagnole s’établit à Dorado avec 7 novices venant d’Haïti, du Mexique, du Paraguay et de Porto Rico. Le P. Victor Cabezas, d’Espagne, est le maître des novices, et le P. Ivan Sarrano, de Porto Rico est son assistant.
O Superior Geral confirma os seu irmãos na vocação espiritana, segundo o espírito dos Fundadores e a tradição viva do Instituto. Assegura a unidade entre todos os espiritanos e com a Igreja. Trabalha para o bem comum e a vitalidade da Congregação. Em espírito de comunhão com a Santa Sé, presta-lhe contas do estado e da vida do Instituto, conforme o modo e o tempo fixados.
