Spiritans Celebrate Annual Gathering in Perth A
Historic Return and a Harvest Time

Perth, Western Australia – The Holy Ghost Fathers (Spiritans)
of the Oceania Circumscription concluded their annual
gathering, held from 19 to 23 April 2026 in Perth, Western
Australia. The Oceania Circumscription is an international
group comprising Australia and Papua New Guinea. Perth holds
profound significance for the Spiritans, as it was the first point of
entry for the pioneer missionaries sent by co-founder Fr. Francis
Libermann in 1846. This mission took place before the 1848
merger of the Congregation of the Holy Heart of Mary and the
Congregation of the Holy Ghost Fathers, which united due to
their shared mission and apostolic works.
