Let everything be natural in you and come from the Holy Spirit. Yet, everything which flow from this Spirit is gentle, mild, modest and humble. Strength and mildness, is the divine action. It is also a summary of all apostolic action.

We live out our mission in willing obedience to the Holy Spirit, tak-ing Mary as our model. This condition of habitual fidelity to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is the 'practical union' of which Libermann speaks. It is the wellspring of our apostolic zeal and leads us to being completely available and making a total gift of ourselves.

1849 C.S.Sp.
M. Monnet, the 10th Superior General of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, leaves Paris for his Apostolic Vicariat in Madagascar, having resigned on November 22, 1848, in favour of François Libermann.
1940 Sierra Leone
Fr Edward Hamelberg, who is a Creole from Freetown of mixed Austrian and Mende roots, becomes the first Sierra Leonean priest and Spiritan. He studies at Chevilly and is ordained there. He dies in Paris in 1989 during a recyclage and is buried in Chevilly.
1999 Rome
The Congregation takes over a parish at Palmarola on the outskirts of Rome. The Spiritan team which moves in is made up of Jean-Jacques Boeglin (France), Peter Kilasara (Tanzania) and Maciej Sierzputowski (Poland).
2000 Guadeloupe
A Creole diocesan priest, Fr. Manuel Moralès, is assassinated at the age of 83. In August, a group of young adults, men and women, takes part in the Jubilee World Youth Day celebrations in Rome.
Prenant Marie pour modèle, nous vivons notre mission dans la docilité à l'Esprit Saint. Cet état habituel de fidélité aux inspirations de l'Esprit - "l'union pratique" dont parle Libermann (cf. N.D., XIII, 699 706) - est la source de notre "zèle apostolique" et nous conduit à la disponibilité et au don total de nous-mêmes.

Mgr Monnet, 10° Supérieur général de la Congrégation du St Esprit, après avoir démissionné en faveur du P. Libermann, le 22 nov.1848, quitte Paris pour son Vicariat Apostolique de Madagascar.
1940 Sierra Leone
Le P. Edward Hamelberg, créole de Freetown de père autrichien et de mère Mende, devient le 1er prêtre sierra-léonais et spiritain. Il étudie à Chevilly où il est ordonné. Il meurt à Paris au cours d’un recyclage et est inhumé à Chevilly.
1999 Rome
Le Cardinal Ruini, Vicaire de Rome et Pierre Schouver, Supérieur général, conviennent de confier la paroisse de Santa Brigida di Svezia, à Rome-Palmarola, à la Congrégation . 1ère équipe de 3 Spiritains : Jean-Jacques Boeglin (Fr.), Peter Kilasara (Tanz .) et Maciej Sierzputowski (Pol.)
2000 Guadeloupe
Au cours de l'Année Jubilaire, assassinat de Manuel Moralès, prêtre créole de 83 ans. En août, une cinquantaine de jeunes, filles et garçons, participent aux JMJ de Rome.
Tomando Maria como modelo, vivemos a nossa missão na docilidade ao Espírito Santo. Este estado habitual de fidelidade às inspirações do espirito – a “união prática”, de que fala Libermann (cf. N.D. XIII, 699-706) – é a fonte do nosso “zelo apostólico” e conduz-nos à disponibilidade e ao dom total de nós mesmos.

Mgr Monnet, 10º Superior Geral da Congregação do Espirito Santo, depois de se ter demitido em favor do P. Libermann, a 22 de Novembro de 1848, deixa Paris e vai para o seu Vicariato Apostólico de Madagáscar.
1940 Serra Leoa
P. Edward Hamelberg, crioulo de Freetown, de pai “Austríaco” e mãe “Mende” é o primeiro padre da Serra Leoa e espiritano. Estuda em Chevilly onde é ordenado. Morre em Paris durante uma reciclagem e é sepultado em Chevilly.
1999 Roma

Ao longo do Ano Jubilar, assassinato de Manuel Moralès, padre crioulo de 83 anos. Em Agosto, cerca de cinquenta jovens, rapazes e raparigas, participam nos JMJ de Roma.
