I know you will not find many like that, who are already capable of suffering pains and humiliations, but they must at least have the ardent and sincere desire to suffer all sorts of pain, afflictions and humiliations for the love of God and that even from this moment they strive to work seriously to support them, to humble and conquer themselves in these circumstances.

Je sais que vous n’en trouverez pas beaucoup qui soient déjà capables de souffrir patiemment les peines et les humiliations, mais il faut au moins qu’ils aient le désir ardent et sincère de souffrir toutes sortes de peines, d’afflictions et d’humiliations pour l’amour de Dieu et que même ils tâchent dès ce moment de travailler sérieusement à les supporter, à s’humilier et à se vaincre dans ces circonstances.

Eu sei que não encontrareis muitos que sejam capazes de sofrer com paciência as penas e humilhações, mas é preciso ao menos que tenham o desejo ardente e sincero de sofrer toda a espécie de penas, de aflições e humilhações por amor de Deus, e que mesmo tratam desde agora de trabalhar seriamente para as suportar, para se humilhar e se vencer nestas circunstâncias.
