Bishop Ludwig Herbst – Juruá’s adoptive son
Bishop Ludwig Herbst, Spiritan Bishop, died in Cruzeiro do Sul on the 31st of December 2017. He was the titular bishop of Cruzeiro do Sul, in Brazil, from 1979 to 2000.

Pope Francis has appointed the Spiritan Fr. Altevir da Silva as Bishop of Cametá, in the Brazilian state of Pará. Fr. Altevir is the Superior of the Spiritan Province of Brazil.
