On behalf of the General Council, my Confreres and Lay Spiritan Associates dispersed throughout the world, I express our most active and affectionate gratitude to You for having agreed to host us today on the occasion of this year’s celebration of the 175th anniversary of the fusion of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit and the Society of the Sacred Heart of Mary on 10 September 1848, which gave the Congregation its current name of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit under the Protection of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We are most heartily and affectionately grateful for Your presence among us this day, a sign of the pastoral care with which you follow, accompany and guide consecrated life.

Au nom du Conseil Général, de mes Confrères et des Laïcs Associés Spiritains dispersés dans le monde entier, je Vous exprime notre gratitude la plus active et la plus affectueuse pour avoir accepté de nous accueillir aujourd’hui à l’occasion de la célébration, cette année, du 175ème anniversaire de la fusion de la Congrégation du Saint-Esprit et de la Société du Sacré-Coeur de Marie, le 10 septembre 1848, qui a donné à la Congrégation son nom actuel de Congrégation du Saint-Esprit sous la protection du Coeur Immaculé de Marie. Nous vous remercions de tout coeur et avec affection pour votre présence parmi nous en ce jour, signe de la sollicitude pastorale avec laquelle vous suivez, accompagnez et guidez la vie consacrée.

Em nome do Conselho Geral, dos meus Confrades e dos Leigos Associados Espiritanos espalhados pelo mundo, exprimo-Lhe a nossa mais ativa e afetuosa gratidão por ter aceite receber-nos hoje, por ocasião da celebração deste ano do 175º aniversário da fusão da Congregação do Espírito Santo e da Sociedade do Sagrado Coração de Maria, a 10 de Setembro de 1848, que deu à Congregação o seu nome actual de Congregação do Espírito Santo sob a Proteção do Imaculado Coração de Maria. Agradecemos de coração e com afeto a Vossa presença entre nós neste dia, sinal da solicitude pastoral com que seguis, acompanhais e guiais a vida consagrada.
