1954 Bagamoyo
Bishop Herman van Elswijk resigns and is succeeded by the first African bishop in the diocese. There are 87 priests, 19 brothers and 168,000 Catholics in the diocese.
1969 Gabon
Inauguration of Maison Libermann as the residence of the Principal Superior in Gabon. During his time as Superior General, Mgr. Lefebvre urges all Districts to have a house that belongs to the Congregation.

Jacques-Désiré Laval, docteur en médecine, ramené à la pratique chrétienne par des évènements providentiels, entre au Séminaire Saint-Sulpice (théologie), alors que Fr. Libermann se trouvait au Séminaire d’Issy (philosophie).

Jacques Désiré Laval, médico, chamado à prática religiosa por acontecimentos providenciais, entra no Seminário de S. Sulpício (teologia), enquanto Fr. Libermann se encontrava no Seminário de Issy (filosofia).

Inauguração da Casa Libermann, residência do Superior Principal e casa do Distrito espiritano do Gabão. Durante o seu generalato, Mgr Lefebvre tinha recomendado aos distritos que providenciassem para ter uma casa própria.
