On this day
This charity between brothers of the same community must be cordial. It is not enough to have it in one’s mouth or even in the actions, it must start from a truly affectionate heart, struggling with fidelity and constancy against temptations which could arise against this virtue.

Esta caridade entre os irmãos da comunidade deve ser cordial. Não basta que a tenhamos na boca ou mesmo nas ações, ela deve partir dum coração verdadeiramente afetuoso, lutando com fidelidade e constância contra as tentações que poderiam elevar-se contra esta virtude.

View AllThe dominant tendency (of the first session of the Chapter) was to give priority to life over law: in the light of the concrete reality of our missionary life, some regulations, which were a source of tension, were dispensed with to the benefit of the men themselves and a clearer expression of their commitment to God. But we did not eliminate that necessary discipline which is an indispensable element of all social life and a guarantee against wasted energy. On the other hand, the clarification provided by a new definition of our specific end should lead to a renewed missionary effort in the service of the Church.

The theologate moves from Viana do Castelo to Torre d'Aguilha. The first official act is the enthroning of the Blessed Sacrament.
La tendance (de la 1° session du Chap.Gén. 1968) a certainement dominé d'accorder la priorité à la vie sur la loi: le regard sur les conditions concrètes de notre vie missionnaire a bousculé certaines réglementations, source de tension, au profit d'un ajustement par les hommes eux-mêmes, des expressions de leur donation à Dieu, mais on n'a pas éliminé la juste discipline qui est un élément indispensable de toute vie en société et une garantie contre le pillage des énergies. L'éclairage fourni par une nouvelle définition de notre fin spécifique doit conduire, d'autre part, l'Institut à un nouvel élan missionnaire au service de l'Eglise.

Le théologat se transporte de Viana do Castello à Torre d’Aguilha. Le premier acte est d’y mettre le Saint Sacrement.
A tendência (da 1ª Sessão do Capítulo Geral de 1968) foi certamente dar prioridade à vida sobre a lei: o olhar sobre as condições concretas da nossa vida missionária fomentou certas regras, fonte de tensão, em benefício dum ajustamento pelos próprios homens, das expressões da sua doação a Deus, mas não se eliminou a adequada disciplina que é um elemento indispensável a toda a vida em sociedade e uma garantia contra a perda de energias. A iluminação fornecida por uma nova definição do nosso fim específico deve conduzir, por outro lado, o Instituto a um novo incentivo missionário ao serviço da Igreja.

Chegada do Curso Teológico ao novo Seminário da Torre d’Aguilha, vindo de Viana do Castelo. O primeiro acto oficial desta presença foi a entronização do Santíssimo Sacramento.
