On this day
Our will, being what is the most intimate in us, its submission and total abandonment to Our Lord is something very difficult. In order to produce this effect in all its perfection, our divine Master digs into the most intimate of the soul. He uproots from there all that is of our own love and life, to substitute it with his own divine love and life.

Notre volonté étant ce qu’il y a de plus intime en nous, sa soumission et son entier abandon à Notre Seigneur est chose très difficile. Afin de produire cet effet dans toute sa perfection, notre divin Maître creuse jusqu’au plus intime de l’âme. Il déracine tout ce qui y est de notre propre amour et de notre propre vie, pour y substituer son divin amour et sa divine vie.

Sendo a nossa vontade o que há de mais íntimo em nós, a sua submissão e completo abandono a Nosso Senhor é difícil. Para produzir esse efeito com perfeição, o nosso divino Mestre cava até ao íntimo da alma. Desenraíza tudo o que aí existe do nosso próprio amor e da nossa própria vida, para os substituir pelo seu divino amor e pela sua vida divina.

1842 Rome
Fr. Edward Barron is ordained bishop in Rome by Cardinal Fransoni. The new bishop, looking for missionaries for his immense Vicariate, will be put in touch with Père Libermann and will meet him at La Neuville.
1864 Holy Heart of Mary
Five years after its foundation, the Congregation has 9 novices (including 6 priests) with Libermann at La Neuville; at Notre Dame du Gard, with Pères Schwindenhammer, Clair and Lannurien, there are 28 theologians and philosophers, 8 brothers and 3 lay people. So altogether, there are 37 in formation.
1951 Senegal
The Senior Seminary (Libermann) is transferred from Popenguine to Sebikhotane; the students are from various diocese in Senegal and a few from Guinée Conakry.
1991 Algeria
A new Spiritan foundation is started at Mascara by Père Raymond Gonnet. It will look after the small Christian community, create "platforms" for meetings, classes for women and an agricultural library, all in collaboration with a community of Sisters of Our Lady of the Apostles.

1842 Rome
Ordination épiscopale d'Edouard Barron à Rome par le Cardinal Fransoni. Le nouvel évêque, en quête de missionnaires pour son immense Vicariat Apostolique, rencontre le P. Libermann et vient à La Neuville.
1864 St Cœur de Marie
Cinq ans après la fondation de la Congrégation, il y a à La Neuville 9 novices dont 6 prêtres avec le P. Libermann; et à Notre Dame du Gard, 28 théologiens et philosophes, 8 frères, 3 laïcs, avec les PP. I. Schwindenhammer, Clair et Lannurien, soit 37 jeunes en formation.
1951 Sénégal
Le grand séminaire Libermann est transféré durablement de Popenguine à Sébikhotane où il reçoit des séminaristes des divers diocèses du Sénégal et quelques-uns de Guinée Conakry.
1991 Algérie
Ouverture d'une implantation spiritaine à Mascara par le Père Raymond Gonnet: responsabilité de la petite Communauté chrétienne et création de "plate-formes" de rencontre: formation féminine, bibliothèque d'agronomie, en collaboration avec une communauté de sœurs de N.D. des Apôtres.

1842 Roma
Ordenação episcopal de Edouard Barron, em Roma, pelo Cardeal Fransoni. O novo bispo, à procura de missionários para o seu imenso Vicariato Apostólico, entrará em contacto com o P. Libermann, e virá a La Neuville.
1864 S.C. de Maria
Cinco anos depois da fundação da Congregação, temos em La Neuville 9 noviços, dos quais 6 padres com o P. Libermann, e em Nossa Senhora do Gard 28 teólogos e filósofos, 8 irmãos, 3 leigos, com os PP. Schwindenhammer, Clair e Lannurien, ou sejam 37 jovens em formação.
