Imaginary zeal, on the other hand puts the soul into difficulties and inspires it with sentiments of haughtiness and vanity, it invites those who possess it to make great imaginary projects, to draw the esteem of others, to speak about themselves. It brings them to bitterness, to exclaim and get angry against those who do evil, and to discouragement if everything does not succeed according to the visions the imagination has fantasized.

Le zèle imaginaire, met le trouble dans l’âme et lui inspire des sentiments d’élévation et de vanité, porte ceux qui l’ont à faire de grands projets imaginaires, à s’attirer l’estime d’autrui, à parler de soi-même. Il porte aussi à l’aigreur, à s’exclamer et s’emporter contre les auteurs du mal, au découragement si tout ne réussit pas selon les vues que l’imagination s’est tracée.

O zelo imaginário traz a perturbação à alma e inspira-lhe sentimentos de elevação e vaidade, leva aqueles que o possuem a fazer grandes projetos imaginários, castelos no ar, a atrair a estima dos outros, a falar de si mesmo. Leva também ao azedume, a exaltar-se contra os autores do maI, ao desânimo se as coisas não acontecem segundo os projetos da sua imaginação.
