I have left Rennes. I have not a single person or creature on earth in whom I can put my trust. I have nothing, and I do not know what will become of me, or how I can simply live and exist; I will live a despised life, forgotten, neglected, lost in the world. J’ai quitté Rennes pour toujours. C’est une grande imprudence, pour ne pas dire une folie, selon ceux qui jugent des choses en hommes de ce monde. J’avais là un avenir certain, j’étais sûr d’avoir de quoi vivre et d’avoir même une certaine existence honorable. Mais malheur à moi si je cherche à être à mon aise sur la terre, à vivre honoré et estimé. Chers amis, souvenez-vous d’une chose, cette terre passe, la vie que nous menons ne dure qu’un instant.

Deixei Rennes para sempre. É uma grande imprudência, para não dizer uma loucura, segundo aqueles que julgam as coisas como homens deste mundo. Lá, eu tinha um futuro garantido, estava certo de ter com que viver e mesmo de ter uma existência honrosa. Mas infeliz de mim se procuro uma vida fácil sobre a terra, viver como homem honrado e estimado. Caros amigos, lembrai-vos duma coisa, esta terra passa, a vida que levamos só dura um instante.

I must tell you about the great mercy and goodness that Our Lord has shown towards me, his undeserving servant who is not even worthy to speak his name: this morning, I was ordained a priest. Only God knows exactly what I received this morning because neither man nor angel can begin to understand it. I ask you all to pray that my becoming a priest will be for his greater glory, for the salvation of souls and for the building up of the Church. Ask the Lord that he will sacrifice me for his glory, because this must be my only concern from now on.

1841 Libermann
François Libermann is ordained priest by Mgr. Miolland in his private chapel at Amiens. On the same day, Frédéric Le Vavasseur is ordained in Paris.
1975 Algeria
Nationalisation of the Spiritan agricultural school at Misserghin; all the confreres leave the country, apart from one who remains as chaplain to the Trinitarian Sisters. The Provincial Council in France promises the Bishop of Oran that they will soon be replaced by a new group of Spiritans.
1980 Central African Foundation
The 3rd noviciate opens in Akono (Cameroon) and the following year, it finds a permanent home in Mbalmayo. Père Charrier is novice master until 1988. The number of novices steadily increases.
1982 Madagascar
The first Spiritan formation house opens in Madagascar- Foyer Laval at Tananarive.
J’ai à vous annoncer la grande miséricorde et l’ineffable bonté de Notre-Seigneur Jésus-Christ envers un indigne serviteur, qui ne mérite pas seulement de prononcer son saint nom. Je viens d’être ordonné prêtre ce matin. Dieu sait ce que j’ai reçu dans ce grand jour ! Et Dieu seul le sait ! car ni homme ni ange ne peut le concevoir. Priez-le tous que ce soit pour sa très grande gloire, pour le salut et la sanctification des âmes et pour l’édification de l’Eglise, que je sois parvenu au sacerdoce. Priez Notre-Seigneur qu’il me sacrifie à sa gloire ; car c’est à quoi il faut me dévouer désormais.

François Libermann est ordonné prêtre par Mgr Miolland, dans sa chapelle privée à l'évêché d'Amiens (France). Ce même jour, ordination de Frédéric Le Vavasseur, à Paris.
1975 Algérie
Nationalisation de la propriété et du Centre Artisanal et Agricole de Misserghin: les confrères quittent l'Algérie, à l'exception d'un seul qui assurera l'aumônerie des Religieuses Trinitaires. Le Conseil Provincial de France promet à l'Evêque d'Oran le retour prochain d'un groupe spiritain.
1980 Fondation d’Afrique Centrale
3ème Noviciat, à Akono, au Cameroun, avec trois jeunes, un 4ème à Mbalmayo où se réalise la construction définitive. Le P. Charrier dirige le Noviciat jusqu'en 88 : chaque année, le nombre de novices croît (dix en 87).
1982 Madagascar
Ouverture de la 1ère communauté de formation de Madagascar, le "Foyer Laval" de Tananarive.

Francisco Libermann é ordenado padre por Mgr Miolland, na sua capela privada no bispado de Amiens (França). Neste mesmo dia, ordenação presbiteral de Frederico Le Vavasseur, em Paris.
1975 Argélia
Nacionalização da propriedade e do Centro Artesanal de Misserghin, no quadro das leis da “Revolução Agrária”; os confrades deixam a Argélia, com excepção de um que assegurará a capelania das Religiosas Trinitárias de Misserghin. O Conselho Provincial de França promete ao Bispo de Oran um regresso próximo dum novo grupo espiritano.
1980 Fundação da África Central
3º Noviciado em Akono, nos Camarões, que recebe três jovens. Um quarto Noviciado está previsto para o ano seguinte em Mbalmayo onde se realiza a construção definitiva. O P. Charrier dirige o Noviciado até 1988: cada ano há três ou quatro noviços, depois sete em 86 e dez em 87.
