The 2026 Enlarged Provincial Council (EPC) of the Province of Nigeria, South East, commenced on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at the Spiritan International School of Theology (SIST) Attakwu, Enugu State, Nigeria. It was well attended by delegates representing the various missions of the Provincial Apostolates and the different locations where our confreres are ministering.
In addition to the delegates, a number of observers were invited to witness and participate in the proceedings. Among them were Fr. Jean-Pascal Lombart, C.S.Sp., Superior of the Province of France; Fr. Ugo Ikwuka, C.S.Sp., Superior of the UK Province; Fr. Innocent Izunwanne, C.S.Sp., Superior of the German Province; Fr. Canice Njoku, C.S.Sp., the immediate Past Superior of Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic,; and Fr. Kenneth Okoli, C.S.Sp., the Development officer of the GC, among others present.
The EPC was also honoured by the presence of Fr. Jude Nnorom, C.S.Sp., the Representative of the General Council and the General Council Correspondent for our Province. His presence added further significance to the gathering and strengthened the synergy between the Province and the General Council.
The Enlarged Provincial Council is scheduled to last for one full week, from Sunday, August 23, to Saturday, August 29, 2026. It provides an important opportunity for the Province to reflect on its life and mission, discuss matters of common concern, and discern appropriate directions for the future.
The EPC continues in a spirit of fraternity, prayer, dialogue, and shared responsibility as the delegates and observers contribute to the deliberations of the Province.
