The yardstick of the activity of zeal is the facility for us to keep being in recollection and in union with our Lord Jesus Christ in the midst of occupations. If we experience this facility, it is a sign that our zeal is really supernatural. If on the contrary, the exercise of our zeal puts us into trouble, into agitation, it is the work of nature. It is no longer the pure zeal of our Lord. Where our Lord is, there is peace.

La pierre de touche de l’activité du zèle est la facilité à nous tenir dans le recueillement et l’union à notre Seigneur au milieu des occupations. Si nous éprouvons cette facilité, c’est une marque que notre zèle est véritablement surnaturel. Si au contraire, l’exercice de notre zèle nous jette dans le trouble, dans l’agitation, c’est une oeuvre de la nature. Où se trouve notre Seigneur, là se trouve la paix.

A pedra-de-toque da atividade do zelo é a facilidade em nos mantermos recolhidos e unidos a Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo no meio das ocupações. Se sentimos esta facilidade, é um sinal de que o zelo é verdadeiramente sobrenatural. Se pelo contrário, o exercício do nosso zelo nos lança na perturbação e agitação, é uma obra da natureza. Já não é o zelo puro por Nosso Senhor. Onde o Senhor se encontra, aí se encontra a paz.
