We find the source of our formation in the call received from the Lord to follow him, to imitate him and to let ourselves be trans-formed by him (SRL 101). This call gives meaning and unity to the different elements of formation: it directs them towards the choice we have made to place Jesus the Christ, who died and rose again, ever more at the centre of our lives. These elements thus help us to grow as disciples and servants of the Gospel. The movement finds its concrete expression and fulfilment when we give ourselves to the religious apostolate by our definitive consecration, following the paschal logic of our baptism. Formation is the work of God, who moulds us like the potter

1863 East Africa
The Superior General signs a contract with Bishop Maupoint of Reunion in which the Congregation accepts "the mission of Zanzibar in its entirety".
1886 Portugal
The communities of Braga and Porto become the Vice-Province of Portugal; the first superior is Père Eigenmann.
1947 Gabon
The Apostolic Vicariat of Gabon now becomes the Apostolic Vicariat of Libreville. On July 7th, Père Jean-Jerome Adam is appointed the Vicar and is ordained at Colmar on December 9th.
1991 Nigeria
An international meeting of Spiritan formators is held at Enugu, Nigeria. Objectives of the meeting are: the adaptation of formation to contemporary ideas of mission and the integration of the basic elements of our Spiritan vocation; living our unity and diversity in mutual support and sharing.
Nous trouvons la source de notre formation dans l'appel reçu du Seigneur à le suivre, l'imiter et nous laisser "transformer par lui (RVS 101). Cet appel donne sens et unité aux divers éléments de la formation: il les oriente vers le choix que nous faisons de mettre toujours davantage au cœur de notre vie Jésus-Christ mort et ressuscité. Ces éléments contribuent ainsi à nous faire croître comme disciples et serviteurs de l'Évangile. Ce mouvement se concrétise dans le don que nous faisons de nous-mêmes, selon la logique pascale de notre baptême, par notre consécration religieuse à l'apostolat. La formation est l'œuvre de Dieu qui nous façonne comme un potier.

A Enugu, Nigeria, a lieu une rencontre internationale de formateurs spiritains. Objectifs de la rencontre : l’adaptation de la formation aux conceptions actuelles de la mission, et l’intégration des éléments de base de notre vocation spiritaine : vivre notre unité et notre diversité dans l’aide mutuelle et le partage.
Encontramos a origem da nossa formação no chamamento feito pelo Senhor para O seguir, O imitar, e nos deixarmos “transformar” n’Ele” (RVE 101). Este apelo dá sentido e unidade aos diversos elementos da formação e orienta-nos na escolha que fizemos de colocar sempre mais na nossa vida, Jesus Cristo morto e ressuscitado. Deste modo, estes elementos fazem-nos crescer como discípulos e servos do Evangelho. Este movimento concretiza-se no dom que fazemos de nós mesmos, segundo a lógica pascal do nosso baptismo, através da consagração religiosa ao apostolado. A formação é obra de Deus o qual nos vai modelando como o oleiro vai dando forma ao barro.
